If in Doubt AFK out

-The guild I both created and ran from where the website name came from.

If in doubt AFK out was formed on Silvermoon EU July 2006 by a few Alliance raider’s (mainly from a guild called infernity) and a few from Horde (eclectic selection including but not limited to The dungeoneers, Praetorians and Reign in Blood) who were pvping on alts for gear before TBC,  eventually our horde mains joined and people rerolled with the intension of being a TBC raiding guild. That we did with some aplumb as we cleared Karazhan, got attuned to SSC, cleared SSC and TK including the difficult Kael thas, Cleared MH and BT and progresed into SWP which is the hardest instance the guild had ever seen managing to kill felmyst pre-nerf.

The guild philosophy used to be well summed up by the phrase ‘casual but commited’

Casual because we required only you signed up for 3/4 raids, didnn’t put a lot of pressure onto you to farm/grind and we treat people like adult’s realising peopel were giving up their free time to be with us but commited because as we were giving up our free time we expected everyone to be 100 % focused when they raided, being properly prepared to a raid and ready and willing to wipe with us, raid with us and have fun with us killing bosses. The majority had rl commitments be it work, school or family so we realised the effort they put in to raid and we expected everyone to give it their full effort when they raided. AFK was built on the belief we were a team rather than a collection of individuals and that everybody was equally as valued and as vital.

Alas for a number of reasons I left the guild that I was the guild leader for a fair few years and quit the game, more on that in the newspost of june.
